The Braidwood Picnic Bundle
FINALLY - WE CAN ALL PICNIC!
Following our devastating fires this year, compounded by pandemic lockdown, we thought it was time to join together and look forward to better times this Spring. Hence a picnic focused bundle!
The beauty of the perfect picnic is in its simplicity. An easy to carry and eat menu that can be served cold or at room temperature focusing on great tasting, healthy options. And of course to enjoy the warming sun and great company.
Included in our all Australian picnic is:
1. Garlicious Grown Black Garlic White Balsamic Dressing 250mL - The exquisite flavour of black garlic merged with white balsamic dressing - a perfect addition to a salad, sourdough bread or barbecued meat and vegetables (with no need for oil).
2. Garlicious Grown Black Garlic Paste 100g - A smooth black garlic paste (100% garlic, nothing added). Great on a cheeseboard for a wow factor.
3. Braidwood Food Company Wild Fennel and Australian Mountain Pepper Flatbread 120g – These delicious flatbreads are made from plain and wholemeal flour (containing gluten), sesame and olive oil, oregano, dusted with wild fennel, mountain pepper berries and salt flakes. A perfect supporting act for cheese, black garlic paste or cold meats.
4. Nanny G’s Pickled Garlic Scapes 250g – These chopped garlic scapes are pickled in vinegar, brine and peppercorns making a great tasting soft garlic flavoured snack.
With the addition of fabulous cheese and a bottle of wine, your picnic will be ready to rock.

All of us were impacted by our recent devastating fires. Braidwood Food Co and Nanny G’s, although on opposite sides of Braidwood were burnt out during the Christmas fires. Mountain pepper trees at Braidwood Food Co were lost and hanging garlic in the process of curing were smoke effected. Fire threatened both Garlicious Grown farms but thankfully neither were damaged (though weeks were spent devoted to being on fire alert). Here is a little background about our picnic partners.
Braidwood Food Co
Eating well means knowing the provenance of your food and having a closer relationship with the people growing it. Braidwood Food Company is a response to the growing movement of people changing the way they eat. Steered by chef Tim Wimborne, this family owned enterprise promotes seasonal eating, sources ingredients from sustainable producers in the local community and wild harvesting nearby. Since the fires, the Braidwood Food Co has focused on producing crisp flat bread dressed with Australian mountain pepper and wild fennel seed. The result is Local, Freshness and Flavour.
Nanny G is the work of Georgina Byrnes, a hard working Braidwood garlic grower specialising in great flavoured garlic using organic principles in a sustainable way. Georgina, “Nanny” to her large family, picks the scapes during the garlic season. These are long, leafless green flowering stems rising directly from the garlic bulb late in the season. These need to be picked to maximize the garlic bulb size and flavour. The removed scape is sectioned and pickled as a tasty antipasto accompaniment.
